PEC: Professional Electrical Contractor Program
Are you an electrical contractor or Master Electrician student looking to advance your career? Not sure what the next steps are in your education? Are you a home or business owner unsure what you should know before hiring an electrical contractor for your next project?
Do you know about the Electrical Contractors Association of Alberta’s (ECAA) Professional Electrical Contractor (PEC) program?
Well, read on, friend!
On May 12, 1993, the ECAA received professional status under the Professional and Occupational Associations Registration Act as Professional Electrical Contractors (PEC), and thus, the PEC program was born!
The PEC is an accreditation that exceeds the Master Electrician designation. It ensures that the contractor you become or the contractor you hire is held to the utmost highest of professional standards. If you’re a homeowner, you can rest easy knowing that the PEC contractor you’ve hired is a solid choice for your electrical investments. As a contractor, taking the PEC program lets others know that you take your work’s safety and high ethical standards seriously.
If you are an Alberta Master Electrician who takes out permits for jobs, you are eligible to apply for the PEC program in three easy steps!
Step one: Sign up as a PEC student member
Step two: Sign up for courses
Step three: Apply for your PEC designation
Six courses in total will teach you: accounting principles, business & public relations, estimating & finalizing tenders, legal implications, electrical project management, and safety principles!
Kite Electric is proud to be a PEC accredited electrical contracting company and a member in good standing with the ECAA.
